Peezing
I’ve discussed jalking in a previous blog post but now what the hell is PEEZING ? Put simply Peezing is peeing when you sneeze.
It may be a dribble or it may be a lot. But no matter how much it is, it really isn’t nice for anyone to have this worry and it should not be happening.
Not always a subject people like to discuss but I know there are many women of all ages that suffer in silence and just keep buying the pads.
It really doesn’t have to be that way and I am trying very hard to educate women and show them that they can learn to take back control .
JUST BECAUSE ITS COMMON DOESN’T MAKE IT NORMAL
It is now very easy for me to spot the ladies who struggle with this annoying condition. A crossing of the legs , a quick hand cupping up in-between the thighs, a squeezing of the knees or a rush to the loo.
The problem I have is that I know I can help them but I cant really go up and say,
“here’s my card give me a call and I can help you with that “.
I would probably end up with a few slaps, not just from the ladies but from angry partners too ..
So I am trying to educate ladies through word of mouth, advertising and networking. However I am beginning to realise that sooooo many women accept wearing pads as their fate whether they are 25 or 65+.
IT IS NOT NORMAL TO WEAR PADS EVERY DAY
Your body, inside and out is truly amazing and your bladder is no exception. On average it can hold between 400 to 600ml of urine a day. It can hold this for up to 5 hours but it’s quite normal to go to the loo very 2 hours. But of course this can depend on what you eat, what you drink and what medication you are taking.
Your bladder is a muscular organ that relaxes to fill and contracts to empty. All this works very well as long as your nerves are communicating properly and your pelvic floor is strong enough. You should be in control of when you need to pee, it should not be a case of drop everything or I will pee my pants. It should be, your bladder signals and you go when its convenient for you. ( if only that were true, I hear many of you shout )
The trouble is we often confuse the bladder and start going so often that it no longer fills before signalling and thats when we get the urge to urinate too often .
Put this with a weak pelvic floor, damaged nerves and we are back to our subject of this blog.
PEEZING
So what can you do to help yourself ?
Try these couple of simple techniques below and if you want to stop this from happening or leading to further dysfunction then contact me or book onto my next small 6 week course (details below ). I will teach you how to strengthen your muscles so in future you can sneeze, jump or cough with confidence.
If you are surprised to hear this and it isn’t happening to you, please remember prevention is far easier !
Your health is your responsibility and it feels so good to be healthy and fully functional.
1. Learn to breathe properly, without lifting your shoulders. Breathe in through the nose and out through the mouth
Expanding the chest front, back and sides as you breathe in and on the out breath connect with the muscles you use when you pee and draw them upwards.
2. When your bladder signals urgency, pull up on the muscles you use to stop you peeing. Quickly pull up 3 times and then distract yourself with something else before giving in to the signal straight away.
I have many more simple exercises that are covered on the course which you can use for a lifetime of good strong pelvic health.
